Data leak detection is generally based on collecting data from end devices and network traffic, processing and analyzing incoming data, and storing data.
The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) was introduced
in spring 2018. The national data protection law supplementing this regulation entered into force in early 2019. The purpose of the regulation
is to protect the rights and freedoms of individuals when processing personal data and it applies to all processing of personal data.
Processing of personal data means any collection, recording, storage, modification, alteration, retrieval, use, disclosure, structuring of personal data. The processing of this data always requires a legal basis for processing.
The NIS2 Directive is an EU-wide legislation on cybersecurity. It provides for legal measures to improve the overall level of cybersecurity in the EU. The EU cybersecurity rules, introduced in 2016, were updated by the Network and Information Security Directive, which entered into force in 2023.
By extending the scope of cybersecurity rules to new sectors and actors, it will further improve the resilience and response capabilities of public and private entities, competent authorities and the EU as a whole.
The JMJ Log Guard tool analyzes situational information collected from multiple sources in one place and generates alerts for suspicious observations (for example, failed login attempts with administrator credentials from an unusual location at an unusual time). This enables effective intervention and prevention of security breaches.
JMJ Log Guard complies with the requirements of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which requires data protection to extend to an organization's business processes, networks and applications. GDPR also includes a duty to notify data breaches. An organization is required to notify the authorities within 72 hours of a suspected data breach.
Privacy Policy
The data protection principles under the GDPR mean that personal data must be processed legally and appropriately and transparently from the perspective of the data subject.
Personal data must be collected and processed only to the extent necessary for a specific and explicit purpose. Incorrect data must be erased or rectified without delay. Personal data must be processed securely and confidentially at all times.
Notification obligation
The organization's notification obligation is within 72 hours of the controller becoming aware of a potential data breach.
A personal data breach or suspected breach must be reported to the authorities if the breach may result in a risk to the rights and freedoms of individuals.
Data leak detection
Data leak detection is generally based on collecting data from end devices and network traffic, processing and analyzing incoming data, and storing data. Without tools to examine the data, it is impossible to detect data leaks in a timely manner.
The JMJ Log Guard tool can analyze collected data and alerts you when it detects problems, e.g. with logins or transactions.
